MTV released the trailer for the latest season just last week, and honestly we do not even know what to think. Snooki and Mike are still fighting, and in his words, he is “hurricane Mike heading for Snooki Island.”

Another thing that we are confused about is Vinny. In the trailer it shows that Vinny wants to go home, and it appears that he does in fact leave. Will there be a new housemate? Will Vinny be gone for good or have a change of heart and stick it out in Seaside?

There are just so many questions that need to be answered and answered quickly! Maybe the holidays will keep our minds preoccupied until January 5th at 10pm (ET).

Rachel had spent the evening all smiles, all encouragement for her fellow competitors and her adoring fans and even the judges.  As she found herself competing for the right to go on to the finals, she sang her little heart out and gave what was, in my opinion, her very best performance of the entire season.  When one judge was clearly having an emotional crisis over having to choose, Crow reassured her saying “Please don’t cry.  It’s okay.  I’m good with anything.”  And yet, once the choice was made, look at the tantrum she threw:

If I were her poor mother, I’d go home alone and arm my ADT security system until this kid grows up.

Some of the more notable performers will be, of course, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood singing a duet, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Scotty McCreery, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, and more huge names in country music.  With all of those acts and more at one show, you are bound to be entertained beyond belief.  I’ve been peeking around looking at some of the rehearsal footage and it looks so promising.  Take a look at some of the clips I found to see what tonight will be all about.  I also included the promo with Brad and Carrie that just makes me laugh.

“People tend to think I’m dumb, and sometimes I play dumb on TV, but I’m really very smart.  I know exactly what I’m doing.” she said.  This seems to be true, at least when it comes to self marketing.  The recent rash of actresses coming out with designer perfumes may not be the most creative or innovative way to capitalize on celebrity, but it certainly does pay well. Probably much better than celebrity home security.  Maybe Snooki’s a lot smarter than she seems, after all.

The past couple of weeks have been filled with baby news.  Tina Fey and Jeffery Richmond just had their second child last week.  Also, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren had their second too.  Hilary Duff and her hubby of one year, Mike Comrie, are officially expecting, and if you are looking to not become pregnant, I would recommend staying away from the water in Hollywood.  The good thing about Fey and Alba’s new girls is the fact that their names are pretty normal, Penelope Richmond (Fey and Richmond’s daughter) and Haven Warren (Alba and Cash’s daughter).  When I say normal, I am meaning normal in regards to what some other celeb children are named.  I mean, Pilot Inspektor or Reignbeau, why would people do this to their children?  I don’t care if you are famous and maybe they will be too, they still have to be around other kids, and kids can be cruel.

I beg of you, please, name your child a somewhat normal name.  Sometimes it’s just too much.  If you are intereseted in some other quirky and just plain out there names, I found this sweet infographic on directtv.com for your viewing pleasure.  My favorite has to be Jermaine Jackson’s kid, Jermajesty.  What a joke.  What are some of your favorites?

Jennifer Hudson

The award winning American Idol season 3 contestant is looking quite sleek nowadays.  How did she drop all of those pounds?  Weight Watchers of course.  You’ll see Jennifer Hudson on commercials endorsing the well-known weight loss support of Weight Watchers, but there is no doubt that she has had to clock in some serious hours at the gym too.  You don’t get to that weight just by eating healthier.  She looks fantastic, and even though smaller, she still has some rocking curves.

Jonah Hill

Thanks to a movie role, this typically chubby funny man has lost at least 40 pounds.  Jonah Hill reportedly went on a diet for a role in a film adaptation of ’21 Jumpstreet,’ but couldn’t get the pounds off, so he enlisted help from a trainer as well as a nutritionist.  He looks really healthy and proud.  Good for him!

JWoww

Most of the girls from the Jersey Shore cast underwent some transformations prior to season 4, but none was as dramatic as JWoww, Jenni Farley’s.  She dropped almost 25 pounds, and if you ask my boyfriend she also dropped some sex appeal too.  A lot of men loved that she had some curves and now her face even seems to be a bit harder.  To lose the weight she put in two workouts a day filled with cardio, and she is also endorsing a non-stimulating weight loss supplement called AbCuts.  Hey, if she’s happy I’m happy, but many think she’s too thin.

Snooki

Another Jersey Shore transformation is Snooki, or Nicole Polizzi.  After seeing herself last season on the show she made the decision to get her cheerleader body back, and she looks great!

When the very first episode of the first season of Jersey Shore aired, I was not very impressed with this particular character.  She was a little too ‘in your face’ and blunt for my tastes.  But as the show progressed and the audience began to see the crazy personalities and, at times, tasteless actions of the other members of the cast, JWoww didn’t seem so bad.  I personally love her that she is not known for talking behind other people’s backs or trying to be deceptive.  Probably a lesson that many teens out there could stand to hear.  But if she’s such a strong and independent person, why all of the plastic surgery or whatever it was that made her like that?!

It was one of those things that everybody noticed and was shocked by.  Twitter and Facebook, along with all of the major celebrity gossip columns and blogs, were buzzing the next day about a very different looking JWoww.  It probably wouldn’t have surprised me to have seen Snooki with a different set of boobs or maybe a smaller waistline (even though she definitely doesn’t need to loose any weight) because she is known for kind of being a people pleaser.  What viewers see on the show is basically all we know about these characters and I had hoped that JWoww was truly a woman who would stand up for what she wants and not be persuaded by the media or a man.  Maybe I shouldn’t give her such a hard time because I don’t know the whole story.  But I just want young women to see that even on a trashy reality TV show, there are some strong women who don’t have to look perfect to have a great time in life.

Let’s stop putting so much pressure on celebrities to be perfect!  If we can’t relate to them, then I don’t think we’ll end up even liking them in the long run.
