The X Factor, USA, has made recent news by cutting judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger from the lineup for season two. Even the show’s host, Steve Jones, is reportedly not coming back for a second round. It’s enough to make any sane fan wonder, “Simon, what’s up with that?” I mean, what is he thinking? And we all know he just loves Paula — so, did she only sign up for a first American season as a favor to her dear friend, with no intention from the start of staying on? Or did Simon just decide to cut her from next year’s season arbitrarily? If the latter is truly the case, then indeed, what was Simon thinking? And how does Paula Abdul feel about it personally? I couldn’t help cringing while watching that now infamous showing of The X Factor: America, during which a young Brian Bradley nearly refused to appear on stage and perform after landing in the bottom 2 after a series of weeks in the top.  His poor attitude got worse as the night wore on, as he indirectly blamed his fans and supporters for dropping the ball and whined that he didn’t want to perform if that was all he meant to the people.  Granted, a teenager is going to have a tantrum now and again — but when someone as privileged as Bradley acts out on live television, it’s hard to get past. Then last night on The X Factor, the other young favorite, Rachel Crow, landed in the bottom two along with the very talented Marcus Canty, and to everyone’s shock and dismay, pulled a similar stunt. Tonight is a big night for one of America’s favorite genres of music, country.  That is right, folks, the 45th Annual Country Music Awards will be on ABC starting at 8 ET.  for the last three CMAs, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood have been the fabulous hosts, and I am so glad that the two are back this year for more fun.  If you are a fan of country music, or if you want to see what it is all about, then definitely tune in tonight.  There will be some amazing performances to enjoy. I have always the person that gets so excited about season premiers and reality television that is genuinely entertaining.  That’s why I normally have a few friends over, load up on the unhealthy snack food and have a few drinks during the first episode of Jersey Shore each season.  Even if you find those guys annoying at times, you have to admit, they’re pretty amusing!  I think the cast of this shows balances perfectly.  You have just the right proportion of feisty, clumsy women to cocky jokester males.  Of course they do dumb stuff, that’s the point of reality TV!.  But I have to admit, I was pretty surprised to see a new face and lighter body attached to the otherwise independent and badass JWoww.
